| Oki Color Vibrancy: | For best color vibrancy, use exclusively RGB colors in your designs (for both PCL, Postscript drivers). |
| Printer(s) Driver Settings: |
Note: If your printer has been replaced by Oki, MEDIUM is likely the best paper setting. Oki C5500, C 5800, C6000,C 6100, C8800: Media Weight HEAVY (28 - 32 lb.); MEDIUM, GLOSSY also work (best setting varies with individual printer and number of prints - use Medium for high volume) |
| Color Washout Issues: |
Recommend that you adjust the toner density setting to minus 30 (see below) for each of CYMK. Effectively, 1. this reduces the toner consumption - reducing your toner cost per print and 2. reduces toner washout. |
| C6000, C6100, C8800 (Postscript Printers): |
Go to the printer menu, take offline, go up to Color Menu, put Toner Density on Manual (*), adjust the toner density for each color (CYMK) to minus 3 (there are four (4) settings for each color. |
| C3300, C3400, C5500, C5600 C5800, C6000, C8600: Printers: | In the print driver, go to 'Color', 'Advanced Color' then set Lightness and Saturation to your satisfaction. Transfers normally press darker on shirt - likely you need to Lighten (try +10 - 25 setting). Test, adjust to your satisfaction and then save your settings (one-time setup). Paper may jam if printer is cold - print 5-6 pages before commencing with DuraCotton HT, MUG or GOOF |
| Running Windows? | If so, we strongly suggest using the PCL driver (not Postscript) for best vibrant colors. PostScript wants to control your print - printing too heavy toner density, downgrading vibrancy. |
| Multi-Purpose Tray | The Straight Paper Path is the ONLY recommended for DuraCotton HT, MUG or GOOF transfer paper. |
| Paper Jam? | FIRST READ THE MANUAL!!. Cleaning is easy and fast. Open the top lid, take out the toner cartridges, lift out fuser. Press down the fuser release button, and gently pull paper out (while fuser is hot). Replace components. Print several sheets of plain laser paper to clean off the fuser rollers (printer start up page recommended to save toner). No burnt fingers, removing paper takes seconds. When clean, resume transfer printing |
